Getting here

From the Sunderland Park Lane Interchange, several bus services (including the 22, 60, 62 and 63) run frequently to the Ryhope Hospitals bus stop. Hopewood Park is about a five-minute walk from there. Visit the Nexus website for bus timetables. 

There are 30 covered ‘Sheffield’ cycle stands. These are located _______.

Driving directions

A1 from the North: Travelling on the A1 exit onto the A1231 towards Washington/Sunderland. At the roundabout, take the third exit onto Sunderland Hwy/A1231. At the roundabout take the second exit and stay on Sunderland Hwy/A1231. Then, at the roundabout, take the third exit onto the A19 slip road to Teesside. Merge into the A19, then take the B1404 exit towards Seaham. Turn left onto Seaton Lane/B1404. Then turn left onto Stockton Road/B1285. Continue to follow the B1285. Then, at the roundabout take the third exit onto Stockton Road/A1018. Continue on Stockton Road, then drive onto Waterworks Road and into Hopewood Park.

A1 from the South: Travelling on the A1, at junction 62, take the A690 exit to Sunderland/Durham/Consett/A691. At the roundabout, take the third exit onto the A690. Take Burdon Lane onto Waterworks Road and into Hopewood Park.

Parking

There are several car parks at Hopewood Park which staff, patients and visitors can use. 
Parking charges apply between 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. The charges are:

0 – 60 minutes: £1.00
1 – 2 hours: £1.50
2 – 3 hours: £2.00
3 – 4 hours: £2.50
4+ hours: £8.00

Parking is free for CNTW staff if they have registered their vehicle. 

If you are a carer for someone receiving support from CNTW's services, you can get free parking at all our hospitals by registering for a Carer Card. LINK TO MORE INFO?

If you are visiting a patient during working hours and plan to stay longer than 3 – 4 hours, you will not have to pay the full £8 rate. Ask a member of staff to contact the car park management team and confirm you are visiting patients, and your charge will be capped at £2.50.

Electric Vehicle charging

There are 8 Electric Vehicle charging points at Hopewood Park, located _________.

Charging costs 60p per kWh (approximately £16.80 for a four-hour charge). The chargers on our sites are be operated by Mer. You can pay by card or via the Mer app. Read more about EV charging with Mer.

(Staff employed by CNTW can access discounted charging rates by following the instructions on the staff intranet.)
 

Hopewood Park site map

 

Hopewood Park opened in 2014, and is home to a range of inpatient and community services. Hopewood Park was built on the site of the former Ryhope General Hospital. It replaced the old Cherry Knowle Hospital, which was located nearby.
