
What is this leaflet for?
This leaflet gives easy read information about Rose Lodge in Hebburn.
A member of staff or a carer can support you to read this. They will be able to answer any questions that you have.
About Rose Lodge
Rose Lodge is a treatment and assessment unit in Hebburn.
The unit is for men and women with a learning disability who have mental health problems or challenging behaviour.
At Rose Lodge there are doctors, nurses and other professionals who will help you get better.
The ward has 12 bedrooms.
You will have your own bedroom with a shower and toilet.
There are also bathrooms and toilets.
There are separate areas for men and women to use.
You can use these if you want to relax or just to have some quiet time on your own.
There are small living room and dining room areas.
All the rooms are on ground level.
There are separate dining rooms and quiet areas.
These rooms can also be used for therapeutic activities.
Outside Rose Lodge
During the nice weather you can use the garden. There are areas used for therapeutic activities.
There are tables and benches in the garden.
You can use this area to relax in.
Smoking
The hospital has a no smoking policy on all wards and public places.
No one, including visitors, is allowed to smoke anywhere on the site.
Staff can help you to give up smoking.
Visiting times
Families and carers are welcome to visit between:
- 10am and 12 noon
- 1pm and 3pm
- 6pm and 8pm
If you are unable to visit at these times of day, please contact a member of staff and make alternative arrangements.
We have protected mealtimes between:
- 12 noon and 1pm
- 5pm and 6pm
We ask that families and carers avoid visiting or telephoning during these times.
There is a family room for visitors where toys and games are available for children.
