Who is Alnmouth for?
The service is for women over the age of 18 years who are experiencing a relapse or crisis in their mental health and require assessment and treatment in hospital. The ward also accepts young women aged 16-17 years in an emergency situation when there are no children and young people’s services beds available.
How can I get referred?
Admissions to the ward will be through a Mental Health Act assessment by the Community Mental Health team or The Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Teams. They will use a triage system to determine whether the referral is appropriate and decide if access to the inpatient bed is required, in collaboration with the Bed Management Team.
