The Gateshead East Community Treatment Team provides assessment and treatment by a multi disciplinary team. The team is made up of a number of professionals including doctors, nurses, occupational therapists, psychologists and support workers including peer support workers. The aim of the service is to aid recovery from mental ill health and to assist people in returning manageable levels of activity and independence.
Appointments with the team are arranged at a number of different sites, including Grassbanks Health Centre and Dryden Road Clinic.
Who is the Gateshead East Community Treatment Team for?
The team provides a specialist service for men and women aged between 18 and 65 years who experience severe complex mental health difficulties and require a period of assessment and treatment.
How can I get referred?
You can be referred by your Care Co-ordinator, GP, Primary Care Mental Health Team, Local Authority or Specialist Mental Health Service. To make a referral please contact Single Point of Access Tel: 0191 441 6580.
