Newcastle and Gateshead Homeless Mental Health Community Treatment Team provides an assessment and treatment service for people who are experiencing difficulties with their mental health but who are homeless or are living in insecure accommodation.

The team is made up of several health care professionals. The Homeless Community Treatment Team provides a service for men and women over the age of 18 years who require a period of assessment and treatment with a Secondary Mental Health Need.

Inclusion criteria

Is the individual:

  • Over 18?
  • Homeless or in emergency accommodation?

How to get referred

You can be referred by a GP, Primary Care Mental Health Team, Local Authority, Housing Providers or Addiction Services

If an urgent response is required, then a referral to the Crisis Treatment Team should be made.
