For people experiencing acute mental health distress, and their carers.
The Liaison Service is a dedicated team of practitioners who, within working hours, are based within the A&E department in North Cumbria (Carlisle). They will assess all people who attend A&E and have self-harmed or present with other mental health problems within two hours and within 24 hours if they have been admitted to a medical ward for treatment. They will also provide ongoing support for patients and staff on the medical wards.

By any profession following admission to an acute hospital bed.
