Roker is an inpatient unit based at Monkwearmouth Hospital in Sunderland. Roker  has 12 beds providing assessment and treatment by a multi disciplinary health and social care team. They will support you with a range of different treatments and therapies. The team involved in your care could include:

  • Psychologists
  • Speech and Language Therapists
  • Social Workers

Roker is for older people with mental health problems arising from organic disorders such as dementia.

You can be referred by a Specialist Mental Health Service, which you can access through your GP
