AccessAble logoWoodhorn is an inpatient unit based at St George’s Park in Morpeth. Woodhorn has 14 beds providing assessment and treatment by a multi disciplinary health and social care team. They will support you with a range of different treatments and therapies. The team involved in your care could include:

Woodhorn is for older people with mental health problems arising from organic disorders such as dementia.

John’s Campaign – Information for carers

Carers matter to people living with dementia, confusion or other complex needs, who find it hard to cope in unfamiliar situations.

If you are a carer you have a right to continue your support (if you and they wish) whenever they’re away from home. A stay in hospital can be especially challenging and your involvement may be crucial.

John’s Campaign is supported by the Chief Nursing Officers of England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, by leading UK charities and Royal Colleges.

How can I get referred?

You can be referred by your Care Co-ordinator, GP, Primary Care Mental Health Team and Specialist Mental Health Service.
