I feel very privileged to work as a Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist at Walkergate Park in Newcastle, a specialist neurorehabilitation unit within the Trust. Over many years, I have worked across inpatient and outpatient services, providing care as part of highly skilled, supportive multidisciplinary teams. I am particularly passionate about working with clients who may find it difficult to engage with services, for example due to the psychiatric consequences of brain injury, substance misuse, or other complex psychological factors.

Clinical neuropsychology is an exceptionally varied and rewarding profession, offering opportunities to work creatively with individuals who have complex needs at some of the most challenging times in their lives. At consultant level, the role extends beyond direct clinical work to include leadership and consultancy across the Trust, contributing to service development, complex case discussions, and organisational learning. I have been fortunate to develop my career within CNTW, benefiting from a strong culture of support, professional development, and collaboration. One of the most satisfying aspects of my role is supporting and developing staff, and seeing colleagues grow and thrive in their roles is a genuine privilege. Jan
