Contact us
North East Drive Mobility (NEDM) helps people across the North of England to maintain or regain independence as drivers and passengers following a change in health. We have centres in Newcastle upon Tyne, Stockton on Tees and Cumbria.
We can support people with a range of health changes which may affect someone’s ability to drive or travel independently, such as (but not limited to) Dementia, MS, ME/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Parkinson’s, Huntington’s, and effects of a stroke.
We also conduct powered wheelchair and mobility scooter assessments, and work alongside our Independent Travel Advice Service when driving is no longer an option.
North East Drive Mobility is supported by the Department for Transport and Driving Mobility.

North East Drive Mobility offers the following services:
Specialist, independent driving assessments which are clinically led by skilled and trained Mobility Clinicians and Driving Advisers
Advice on vehicle adaptations and driver solutions, as well as specialist driving tuition, following an assessment
Theory Test support for those who hold a provisional licence and are struggling with their theory test due to neurodiversity or learning difficulties
Powered wheelchair and mobility scooter assessments to help people maintain independence
Children assessments for children with medical conditions that may affect their safety when travelling
An Independent travel advice service for those who are looking for advice on alternatives to driving
Passenger assessments for those with difficulties getting in and out of a vehicle, including advice on wheelchair stowage
