Improving our services for people from marginalised backgrounds
People from minority ethnicities, faiths, and cultures often find it harder to get mental health support. And they often have worse experiences of care.
NHS England published the Patient and Carer Race Equality Framework (PCREF) in 2023. All NHS trusts providing mental health services have to make their own PCREF plan. We need to tackle the unfair differences in our services that people may face due to their ethnicity, faith, or culture.
We’ve teamed up with our local communities to create our PCREF plan. We are now putting it into action. It will help us ensure that we meet the needs of people from different backgrounds.
